At MarketRegal, we are committed to ensuring timely, safe, and reliable delivery of all orders. Our hybrid logistics model combines platform-partnered carriers and seller-managed fulfillment, governed by configurable shipping profiles.
1. Fulfillment Channels
- Platform-Partnered Shipping: MarketRegal uses leading third-party logistics partners for national and regional delivery. These include standard, express, and hyperlocal shipping options.
- Seller-Managed Shipping: In specific cases, sellers are allowed to dispatch products directly using their own logistics arrangements. All such sellers must comply with dispatch and delivery SLAs agreed upon during onboarding.
2. Shipping Charges
Shipping charges are calculated dynamically based on:
- Delivery distance (based on buyer and seller pin codes)
- Volumetric weight and physical dimensions of the package
- Delivery method (standard, express, or seller direct)
- Applicable promotions, shipping profile rules, and threshold-based waivers
All charges are transparently displayed at checkout before order confirmation.
3. Estimated Delivery Timelines
Delivery times vary by product category, shipping method, and buyer location. Typical timelines are:
- Standard Delivery: 3–7 business days (metros and Tier 1 cities)
- Remote/Interstate Locations: Up to 10 business days
- Express Delivery (if available): 1–3 business days
Timelines are calculated in real time at checkout using seller location, product handling time, and serviceable courier coverage.
4. Shipping Profiles
Every product listed on MarketRegal is assigned a Shipping Profile. These profiles govern how shipping is handled and calculated. There are two types:
- Seller-Defined Profiles: Sellers can define custom profiles (e.g., flat-rate, free shipping, weight-based) via their seller dashboard. These are reviewed and approved by MarketRegal before activation.
- Admin-Defined Profiles: For platform-managed inventory or select categories, MarketRegal defines shipping rules centrally. These may override seller configurations for consistency and serviceability.
Profiles include parameters such as:
- Shipping zones and available carriers
- Rate logic (flat rate, slab-based, per kg, distance-based)
- Dispatch SLA (e.g., within 24 or 48 hours)
- Maximum delivery TAT (Turnaround Time)
5. Real-Time Calculations
MarketRegal's backend performs real-time shipping calculations during checkout using:
- Distance matrix between origin (seller) and destination (buyer)
- Courier partner APIs for rate and timeline estimation
- Product-level handling time and weight
This ensures accurate pricing and realistic delivery timelines for every customer.
6. Order Tracking
All shipped orders are assigned a tracking ID. Customers receive tracking links via SMS and email, and can monitor status under their "My Orders” section.
7. Failed Deliveries & Return to Origin (RTO)
If delivery fails due to customer unavailability, incorrect address, or refusal, the order is marked as Return to Origin. Refunds (if applicable) are issued after deduction of forward and reverse shipping charges.
